Photo+Adventure Wien Kicks Off as Duisburg Event Comes to an End
Upcoming Event in Vienna
On the weekend of November 9-10, 2024, photography enthusiasts will gather at the Photo+Adventure event held at the Pyramide in Wien/Vösendorf. This exciting event will feature booths from various camera manufacturers, travel providers, and a diversity of other exhibitors. Attendees can also participate in workshops led by esteemed figures in the photography community, including Bastian Werner and Sandra Petrowitz. The event aims to be a vibrant platform for both budding and experienced photographers to learn and connect.
Tickets for Photo+Adventure are available online for €16, while those purchased at the venue will cost €20. It's important to note that additional fees will apply for seminars and workshops, which require separate registration. More details can be found on the P+A Austria website.
Duisburg's Legacy Ends
In contrast to the excitement in Vienna, the sister event in Duisburg is concluding its run. For the past ten years, Photo+Adventure took place in the scenic Landschaftspark, attracting photography aficionados, exhibitors, and workshop providers. Despite a reported visitor record in 2024, the organizers announced that the event would no longer continue in its current form. They noted the ongoing challenges in attracting exhibitors post-COVID, contributing to the decision to cease the Duisburg segment.
This decision follows a trend seen with other major photography events, such as the Photokina and Photopia, indicating that the traditional model of product showcases is becoming less appealing to manufacturers. Nonetheless, the P+A team will pivot to online offerings, continuing their seminar and lecture series, and plans for a weekend workshop event to be held from April 25-27, 2025, are underway to provide an alternative experience for enthusiasts.
While Duisburg's Photo+Adventure reaches its conclusion, the event in Vienna promises to remain unchanged, continuing to foster a community of photography lovers.
