Leading South-Asian Esports NODWIN Gaming has successfully acquired a 100% stake in licensed merchandising retailer Planet Superheroes.
Planet Superheroes join the wide range of IPs owned by NODWIN Gaming and this acquisition will be aimed at providing merchandise at a global scale.
With several IPs under their name NODWIN Gaming including VCC, DreamHack, and NH7, there will be plenty of merch for them to play around with.
Established in 2015, Plant Superheros have catered to over 2L customers, shipping over 5L products the entire time there was in business. PS will likely integrate into NODWIN’s in-house assets as an e-commerce website for merchandise that is ready to scale in no time.
“The Indian gaming and esports industry has witnessed a metamorphic rise in its fan base in recent years. The acquisition of Planet Superheroes will enable NODWIN Gaming to have another strategic touch point with fans that celebrates a common love for all things gaming, pop culture and esports. We believe in increasing the existing offering of global brands to include mega tournaments, Games and even the popular talent and players like Mortal, Samay Raina, Tanmay, Ankit Panth and others,” said Akshat Rathee, Founder and MD, NODWIN Gaming.
“There is huge untapped monetization potential for gaming companies via merchandising and we share a common vision in realizing this potential with PSH joining NODWIN.” said Jaineel Aga, Founder and CEO of PSH.
This acquisition comes after they invested in Rusk Media and little by little, NODWIN is looking to build a supporting cast for their primary ventures, to ideally cater to the needs of esports fanatics in the region and beyond.
With talents like Samay Raina and Tanmay Bhat on board with them, heading into 2022, NODWIN will be looking to take the industry by storm.
