Apple is gearing up to introduce two new Apple Intelligence features in the upcoming iOS 18.2 beta, as revealed by recent behind-the-scenes references.

Apple Intelligence Features

The anticipated features include 'Siri with ChatGPT' and 'Visual Intelligence' for iPhone 16. Initially announced for release later this year, updates in Apple's backend indicate they are on schedule for iOS 18.2. Announced during WWDC24, Siri's integration with ChatGPT aims to enhance user experience by utilizing real-time data for complex inquiries. Meanwhile, Apple's own models will handle simpler tasks, focusing on personal context.

'Visual Intelligence' was introduced with the iPhone 16 series and is set to be a game-changer. This feature will animate the new Camera Control button, enabling users to interact with real-world elements through their camera—much like Google Lens.

iOS 18.2 Beta Release

The timeline for these updates raises some eyebrows, as iOS 18.2 beta is expected at the end of October. This comes shortly after iOS 18.1's release, anticipated on October 28th. Despite the tight schedule, the simultaneous running of multiple beta versions, as seen previously, could explain the early backend references.

With the near release of iOS 18.1 RC for testers, the full public release of iOS 18.2 is targeted for December. Additional features like Genmoji and Image Playground are also expected to accompany this update.
