Smart Home Convenience with Battery Monitoring

HomeKit accessories like door sensors or motion detectors offer wireless convenience but often rely on batteries, which can run out unexpectedly. A new app, HomeBatteries for HomeKit, focuses solely on monitoring these devices' batteries. It provides a clear overview and notifies users when a battery replacement is needed.

Features of HomeBatteries

The app stands out thanks to its ability to track battery life, offer percentage readings where possible, and present data in a widget. Version 2.2 has introduced several updates, such as localization in multiple languages including German and Spanish, and added features like real-time battery status updates and improved iCloud synchronization.

Monitoring Challenges

While HomeBatteries offers useful statistics, not every device communicates its battery status to HomeKit. The app's developer notes that some devices may not appear in the app due to these technical limitations.

Subscription Costs

Users can access HomeBatteries with a one-time payment of 29.99 Euros for lifelong access, or choose between a monthly subscription of 1.99 Euros or an annual plan for 7.99 Euros.
