Embracing the Linux Journey
Embarking on a New Adventure
Having spent my entire life using Windows, the beginning of my Computer Science degree sparked my curiosity and led me to plunge into the world of Linux. Opting for Arch Linux as my first distribution, installed on an external SSD, turned out to be an exhilarating yet challenging experience. I've often bricked my OS doing something adventurous, leading to multiple reinstallations. However, each of these challenges was a valuable learning opportunity.
Discovering the Joy of Linux
Configuring my Linux setup proved to be more engaging and rewarding than a whole year packed with gaming adventures. The meticulous process of setting everything up provided a deep understanding of the workings of my computer. The feeling of achievement after getting a functional system running on Linux is unparalleled.
The Benefits: Understanding and Efficiency
With my current setup, I can't envision returning to Windows. Not only do I have a deeper comprehension of my system's internal processes, but the switch to Linux has also significantly improved my laptop's battery life. This efficiency boost has further solidified my decision to remain with Linux.
For those contemplating making the switch, embrace the challenges; the rewards are certainly worth it.
