In addition, die Bayerische will also become a partner of BIG’s Trackmania driver Dennis ‘Massa’ Lotze and the StarCraft 2 professional player Tobias ‘ShoWTimE’ Sieber in 2022.

Daniel Finkler, CEO of BIG, spoke on the announcement: “I am very pleased to announce that our insurance partner die Bayerische will continue to be a major supporter of the BIG in the coming season. As part of the extension, die Bayerische will expand the main partnership of the League Of Legends team.

“After two championships in the Prime League and excellent placements at the European Masters 2021, die Bayerische continues to be an important pillar of our ongoing success. In addition, the involvement in Trackmania and StarCraft will be prolonged. We are looking forward to many exciting games and projects together with our partner and the team from Bavaria.”

The extension follows on from a deal signed in 2021, which marked die Bayerische’s entrance into the esports industry. The partnership reportedly included the creation of the 2022 player jersey for BIG’s League of Legends team.

Joachim Zech, Marketing Director of die Bayerische, commented: “Just one year after our entry into esports and the decision to enter into a partnership with BIG, we realised that our strategy was very well received by the community and that we have been able to achieve our goals.

“With BIG we have found yet another fantastic partner with whom we can collaborate on a very professional and creative level. Therefore, it makes us very happy and proud that we can continue to intensify our partnership this year and celebrate further successes together.”

Esports Insider says: BIG has kicked off 2022 with multiple announcements as the organisation continues to strengthen its commercial portfolio, as well as its team of executives. As for die Bayerische, it seems that the insurance company considers its first venture in the industry a success, so it will be interesting to see if it decides to further expand its involvement with esports in the future.
